Organic matter utilization

Pig and Poultry farms working with COOPERL uphold today’s
new environmental regulations in the strictest manner. When excess organic matter exists, it is recycled into compost or fertilizer used by COOPERL. Two plants are specialized in this procedure and make up our highly specialized subsidiary, FERTIVAL.

Composting industrial poultry waste
The compost centre receives poultry litter,
analyses it, and then formulates and mixes it.
Developed by men who know and wish to improve the land they cultivate everyday, FERTIVAL is a company specialized in the production of organic fertilizers created using the best techniques.

Each of Fertival’s production facilities implements modern techniques
of manufacture, quality assurance and environmental protection.
Every site masters all the techniques required to create the best
organic fertilizers on the market: controlled formulation,
"aerobic composting" (daily aeration), riddling, drying, granulation,
complementary formulation, conditioning, regular analysis...

The litter is then recycled into a quality compost which undergoes
an aeration period lasting 50 days.

Fertilizer production through drying
Organic matter from DENITRAL’s semi-liquid pork manure treatment
is transported to the organic fertilizer production facility located
at the CEDEV plant (Centre de Dépollution et de Valorisation).
The material is recycled into a high quality agronomical
fertilizer by thermal drying. The drying process uses vapour
energy produced from waste incineration.
