Animal Nutrition
Feed
production includes implementing dosage, grinding,
mixing and conditioning raw materials according to different
formulas developed by our nutritionists.
In order to answer increasing demand, COOPERL HUNAUDAYE
has four production sites in the west of France.
Nutrition
Department: Research and
Development, Formulation, Laboratory
COOPERL HUNAUDAYE
has its own team of
nutritionists.
The
team stays up to date with new research ideas and practices,
studies concerning new feed formulations, and works in close
collaboration with Research Institutes and Firms.
The laboratory tests around 300 samples each day, including:
• raw materials, and
• finished products
The Purchasing Department guarantees that production plants
are adequately supplied in raw materials year round.
Raw materials used by the plants are essentially grains and grain
based products, oilcakes (ex: Colza and sunflower oilcakes)
and protein rich products (ex: peas).
• Raw Materials check at receipt
All raw material deliveries undergo systematic checks
on different levels:
- Actual raw materials received are checked for accuracy
with the orders placed.
- Sensory checks (colour, odour, appearance …) and analytical
checks (ex: humidity analysis, PS … with the most up to date system) of raw
materials by receiving.
- Chemical analysis by our internal laboratory (samples are saved
for four months).
Feed Production
• Tonnes produced:
The tonnage produced for all plants in the year 2004
is projected to be approximately 1,427,000 tonnes.
• Types of feed produced:
COOPERL HUNAUDAYE produces feed in the form of meal
(flour), pellets, and flakes for numerous species.

• Modern, high-performance and reliable sytems
• Our production sites:
COOPERL HUNAUDAYE has 3 large cattle feed production sites:
- PLESTAN plant (22):
750,000 tonne capacity per year.
- MONTREUIL-SOUS-PEROUSE plant (35):
600,000 tonne capacity per year.
- PLOUNERIN plant (22):
Potential of 200,000 tonne capacity per year.
• modern plants with fully automated production: Throughout the
production process quality assurance is carried out either by operators
or is automated. At each step, data relative to product origin are
saved to a database archive.
• Specialised facilities:
The sites have specialised equipment based on new technologies
and are used to manufacture specific products:
- thermal treatment lines can be used for specific types of feed
(sanitised or liquefied) making them even safer.
- specialised feed plant for young animals located
in MONTREUIL-SOUS-PEROUSE
• Railway branch lines:
COOPERL HUNAUDAYE has three railway branch lines that allow us
to receive raw materials by train.
• Manpower
The Animal Nutrition division of COOPERL HUNAUDAYE
employs 300 persons.
